Meeting Learning Objectives

At the end of the meeting, participants should be able to:

  • Identify common errors that may lead to procedural complications.
  • Describe steps and methods to mitigate procedural complications.
  • Describe vascular and non-vascular interventional techniques for salvage once a complication occurs.
  • Describe common causes of system medical errors in interventional radiology.
  • List requirements for proper patient-informed consent.
  • Describe methods to communicate with the patient regarding a complication.
  • Recognize and assess the medicolegal implications that may arise from complications in interventional radiology.
