DESCRIPTION:Meeting Details\nDate: February 7-8\, 2025 \nLocation: Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise\, AB \n\nEvent App\nApple Store \nGoogle Play \n\nCME Credits\nThe Grand Slams & Catastrophes 2025 will apply for an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada to be approved by the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR). \nThe Grand Slams & Catastrophes 2025  will apply to be approved for Category “A” credits by the CAMRT  and recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  This CE activity may be available in multiple formats or from different CE sponsors. ARRT does not allow self-learning activities to be repeated for CE credit in the same CE biennium. \n\nMeeting Learning Objectives\nAt the end of the meeting\, participants should be able to: \n\nIdentify common errors that may lead to procedural complications.\nDescribe steps and methods to mitigate procedural complications.\nDescribe vascular and non-vascular interventional techniques for salvage once a complication occurs.\nDescribe common causes of systems medical errors in interventional radiology.\nList requirements for proper patient informed consent.\nDescribe methods to communicate to the patient regarding a complication.\nRecognize and assess the medicolegal implications that may arise from complications in interventional radiology.\n\n\nAgenda\nSessions at a glance \nFull program \n\nMeals\, Friday Night Dinner & Networking\nAll breakfasts\, breaks\, and the Friday evening dinner are included in your registration. Trerotola\, MD\, FACR\, FSIR \nScott O. Trerotola\, MD\, FACR\, FSIR\, is the Stanley Baum professor of radiology and professor of radiology in surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia\, where he is also Associate Chair and Chief of Interventional Radiology. \nDr. Trerotola pursues research in hemodialysis and venous access\, IVC filters\, and PAVM embolotherapy\, among other topics. He holds eight patents on devices for interventional procedures. Dr Trerotola was an original member of the original Dialysis Outcomes Quality Initiative clinical practice guidelines for vascular access\, a document which has shaped hemodialysis access care for generations. \nDr. Trerotola is a strong advocate of research in IR and evidence-based practice\, an increasingly important focus as health care reform develops: among his more than 350 research and educational publications are multiple prospective randomized trials. \nDr Trerotola has received tremendous recognition for his achievements. In 2018 he received the Distinguished Fellow Award from CIRSE.
